Albert Ko MD
Plastic Surgery - New Jersey
Dr. Ko was born and raised in New Jersey. As early as high school he knew he wanted to become a physician. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Pennsylvania State University. He then attended Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia for his Medical Degree. Early in medical school Dr. Ko knew he wanted to become a surgeon. Fortunately soon after that realization he discovered plastic surgery. The diversity of problems and the detail-oriented work are what attracted him most.
He remained in Philadelphia and completed a full General Surgery residency at the Graduate Hospital in affiliation with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Doctor Ko then traveled to UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts for his training in Plastic Surgery. As part of that training he spent time at Lenox Hill Hospital on Manhattan's Upper East Side. There he studied cosmetic surgery techniques from some of New York's busiest Plastic Surgeons. While there he fostered relationships with some of the surgeons and still keeps it touch with them today. Whether it is to discuss a challenging case, evaluate a new technique, or to just say hello to an old friend… Dr. Ko believes in forming lasting relationships with colleagues and patients.
Dr Ko practiced at The Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts for the first ten years of his career. There he was Chief of Plastic Surgery and was a Clinical Instructor of Surgery with the Harvard Medical School. He has always enjoyed teaching and devoted many hours teaching Harvard Medical Students, Cambridge Hospital Medical & Podiatry Residents and Surgery Residents from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
In 2008 Dr Ko relocated his family and practice back to New Jersey. He is on staff at Overlook Hospital in Summit and Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ.
